How Reamer Labs collects, uses, and protects your information when you use Reamer Py and Reamer Server.

Effective date: 4 August 2026  ·  Applies to: reamerlabs.com, Reamer Py, Reamer Server

Overview

Reamer Labs is the trade name of Chaitanya Anil Palghadmal, a sole proprietor ("we", "us", "our"). We operate the website reamerlabs.com and two software products: Reamer Py and Reamer Server. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, and what choices you have.

We collect the minimum information necessary to issue and validate software licenses. We do not sell your data, run advertising, or track your usage of the software beyond what is required for license enforcement.

Short version: we store your email address and license key to deliver and validate your purchase. Payment details are handled entirely by Paddle and never reach our systems. reamer_py sends no usage or telemetry data of any kind — the only time it contacts our servers at all is a one-time request when you activate or deactivate a license.

Information we collect

Information you provide

  • Email address — provided at checkout via Paddle. Used to deliver your license key.
  • License key — generated by our license server upon successful purchase and stored in our key–value store linked to your email.

Information collected automatically

  • License activation requests — when you activate reamer_py, it contacts licenses.reamerlabs.com with your license key and a machine fingerprint (a one-way SHA-256 hash of your machine's hostname and network hardware address — not the raw hostname or hardware address itself) to verify validity and enforce the one-machine-at-a-time seat limit described in our Terms of Service. We store this fingerprint, a server-generated machine ID, your license key, and the activation timestamp against your license record. The license our server issues is cryptographically signed and then verified entirely on your own machine from then on — the Software does not contact our server again on subsequent launches, and reamer_py sends no other data at any point, licensed or not. We do not separately log your IP address beyond what Cloudflare records at the infrastructure level (see Third-party services).

Information we do NOT collect

  • Strategy code, backtest configurations, or trading data — including the strategy source reamer_py.save_result() can optionally embed in a .reamer file: that file is written to your own machine and never transmitted to us
  • Usage telemetry, feature analytics, or crash reports
  • Payment card numbers, bank details, or billing addresses (handled entirely by Paddle)
  • Names, physical addresses, or phone numbers

Third-party services

We use a small set of infrastructure providers. Each receives only the data necessary for their function.

ProviderRoleData sharedPrivacy policy
Paddle Payment processing and checkout Email address, payment details (card data handled entirely by Paddle — never reaches our servers) paddle.com/legal/privacy
Cloudflare License server hosting (licenses.reamerlabs.com) and key–value storage License keys, machine fingerprints, and activation timestamps, stored in Cloudflare KV. Cloudflare processes request metadata (IP, timestamps) per their standard infrastructure practices. cloudflare.com/privacypolicy
Resend Transactional email delivery Email address and license key, sent once at purchase to deliver your key resend.com/legal/privacy-policy

We do not share your information with any other third parties. We do not use advertising networks, social media pixels, or analytics platforms on reamerlabs.com or in the software.

Storage and security

Your email address and license key are stored in Cloudflare Workers KV, a globally distributed key–value store operated by Cloudflare. Data is encrypted at rest and in transit. All communication between the Software and the license server uses HTTPS.

Your license key is also stored locally on your machine at ~/.config/reamer/activation.json so the application can function without a network call on every launch. This file is readable only by your user account.

No payment card data or billing information is stored by Reamer Labs at any point. All payment data is held by Paddle under their PCI DSS compliance.

Data retention

Because Reamer Labs licenses are perpetual and do not expire, we retain your email address and license key indefinitely, for as long as you hold a valid license, and do not run any time-based automatic purge of that record. Evaluation licenses expire on the date set when issued (see Terms of Service) but the underlying key and activation record are retained on the same basis as a purchased license, for support and anti-abuse purposes.

You may request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us at privacy@reamerlabs.com. Deletion will deactivate any associated license keys immediately.

Your rights

Depending on your jurisdiction you may have some or all of the following rights regarding the personal data we hold about you:

  • Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correction — request correction of inaccurate data (e.g. a misspelled email address).
  • Deletion — request that we delete your email address and license key. Deletion deactivates your license.
  • Restriction — request that we stop processing your data while a dispute is resolved.
  • Portability — request your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
  • Objection — object to processing based on legitimate interests.

To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@reamerlabs.com. We will respond within 30 days. We may ask you to verify your identity before acting on a request.

Note: your license key is itself the record tied to your identity, so deleting your data necessarily deactivates it — this is a direct technical consequence, not a penalty. If you'd rather keep using your active license, you can wait and request deletion after it lapses instead. Refund eligibility follows our Refund Policy the same as any other cancellation.

Children

Reamer Py and Reamer Server are professional software intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 16. If you believe a minor has submitted personal information to us, please contact privacy@reamerlabs.com and we will delete it promptly.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date at the top of this page and, where the changes are material, notify active license holders by email. Continued use of our software after the updated policy takes effect constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

Previous versions of this policy are available on request.
