How Reamer Labs collects, uses, and protects your information when you use Reamer and reamer_py.

Effective date: 22 June 2026  ·  Applies to: reamerlabs.com, Reamer Desktop, reamer_py

Overview

Reamer Labs is the trade name of Chaitanya Anil Palghadmal, a sole proprietor ("we", "us", "our"). We operate the website reamerlabs.com, the Reamer desktop application, and the reamer_py Python package. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, and what choices you have.

We collect the minimum information necessary to issue and validate software licenses. We do not sell your data, run advertising, or track your usage of the software beyond what is required for license enforcement.

Short version: we store your email address and license key to deliver and validate your purchase. Payment details are handled entirely by Paddle and never reach our systems. The software does not phone home with usage data.

Information we collect

Information you provide

  • Email address — provided at checkout via Paddle. Used to deliver your license key and send renewal notices.
  • License key — generated by our license server upon successful purchase and stored in our key–value store linked to your email.

Information collected automatically

  • License activation requests — when you activate Reamer, the application contacts licenses.reamerlabs.com with your license key to verify validity. We log the key and the timestamp of the request. We do not log your IP address or machine identifiers beyond what Cloudflare records at the infrastructure level (see Third-party services).
  • Offline validation — after activation, all license checks are performed locally against the activation file stored on your machine. No network requests are made during normal operation. The server is contacted only when you explicitly activate or deactivate a license.

Information we do NOT collect

  • Strategy code, backtest configurations, or trading data
  • Usage telemetry, feature analytics, or crash reports
  • Payment card numbers, bank details, or billing addresses (handled entirely by Paddle)
  • Names, physical addresses, or phone numbers

We do not share your information with any other third parties. We do not use advertising networks, social media pixels, or analytics platforms on reamerlabs.com or in the software.

Storage and security

Your email address and license key are stored in Cloudflare Workers KV, a globally distributed key–value store operated by Cloudflare. Data is encrypted at rest and in transit. All communication between Reamer and the license server uses HTTPS.

Your license key is also stored locally on your machine at ~/.config/reamer/activation.json so the application can function without a network call on every launch. This file is readable only by your user account.

No payment card data or billing information is stored by Reamer Labs at any point. All payment data is held by Paddle under their PCI DSS compliance.

Data retention

We retain your email address and license key for as long as your license is active and for a reasonable period afterward to handle support requests and disputes. Specifically:

  • Active license: email and key are retained for the full license term.
  • Expired license: retained for up to 12 months after expiry to assist with renewal disputes.
  • Revoked or refunded license: retained for up to 90 days, then deleted.

You may request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us at privacy@reamerlabs.com. Deletion will deactivate any associated license keys.

Your rights

Depending on your jurisdiction you may have some or all of the following rights regarding the personal data we hold about you:

  • Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correction — request correction of inaccurate data (e.g. a misspelled email address).
  • Deletion — request that we delete your email address and license key. Deletion deactivates your license.
  • Restriction — request that we stop processing your data while a dispute is resolved.
  • Portability — request your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
  • Objection — object to processing based on legitimate interests.

To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@reamerlabs.com. We will respond within 30 days. We may ask you to verify your identity before acting on a request.

Note: if you request deletion of your data while your license is active, your license key will be revoked and Reamer will stop functioning. We cannot issue a refund solely on the basis of a data deletion request if the license has been in use.

Children

Reamer is professional software intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 16. If you believe a minor has submitted personal information to us, please contact privacy@reamerlabs.com and we will delete it promptly.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date at the top of this page and, where the changes are material, notify active license holders by email. Continued use of Reamer after the updated policy takes effect constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

Previous versions of this policy are available on request.
